| Programme Management |
National TB Programme falls within the general health service framework; it has, at the central level, a management unit known as the Central Tuberculosis Unit (CTU), which is responsible for TB control in the country. The CTU is headed by a national focal person also known as the Programme Manager who works with a team – Program Manager; Deputy Program Manager; Procurement & Logistics Officer; Monitoring & Evaluation Officer; Training & IE&C Officer; Quality Control Officer (Lab. Scientist); TB/HIV Officer.

PROGRAMME MANAGER
DR. FRANK BONSU
He has worked as a Medical Officer, Senior Medical Officer andDistrict Director of Health Services in the Central Region from 1987to 1991. He also worked in the Brong Ahafo Region mostly asSMOPH and then briefly as Ag. Regional Director of Health Servicesfrom 1992 to 1997. His remarkable outputs and achievement in thearea of Disease control, and TB in particular led to his appointmentas National Programme Manager in 1998.
Together with othercolleagues TB control in Ghana has seen tremendous changes andimprovement.He is a member of African task force for TB control and has servedon a number of WHO working groups on TB. He is also a member ofInternational Union against TB and Lung Disease. He has made TB controlpresentations on major international conferences world wide and has initiatedinnovations in TB interventions which is now widely accepted. He has developedtraining modules including an international training module to teach in schools of PublicHealth. He provides consultancy services for other African countries

DR. NII NORTEY HANSON-NORTEY
DEPUTY PROGRAMME MANAGER
Upon completion of his medical degree he worked in the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was involved in HIV care and was part of the team involved in the introduction of Anti-retroviral therapy in the Hospital which developed to become the best ART site in Ghana.
He went on to do an MPH in the University of Ghana and was posted to the NTP to support the implementation of TB/HIV Collaborative activities in Ghana.
DUTIES
- Coordinates with the National HIV/AIDS/STI Program
- Initiates collaborative activities with Partners
- HIV surveillance in TB patients
- Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT)
Deputy Program Manager
- Reports to and assists Program Manager in all tasks
- Developing guidelines and manuals

PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS OFFICER
MR. AHAMED IDDRISU
Trained at Rural Health Training School, Kintampo as Field Technician - Disease Control 1988 1989. Worked as District Disease Control Officer and a member of the DHMT, Nanumba
District 1990-1995. Trained at Rural Health Training School Kintampo, Diploma in Community Health 1995-1997.
Worked as a member of Tamale MHMT, Saboba/Cheriponi District and as DBMT member, East Gonja District 199-2001. Awarded Diploma in Public Administration, University of Ghana 2003. B.A. Degree in Management/Sociology, University of Ghana 2006.
DUTIES
- · Calculates NTP requirements for drugs and other supplies
- · Coordinates with Procurement Unit on procurement issues
- · Coordinates procurement activities with GHS/MH procurement Units
- · Maintains a functional warehouse (container) and maintains good stock management of drugs and other supplies
- · Responsible for transport and distribution of drugs and other supplies to Regions and health facilities including the laboratory
- · The PLO reports to the Program Manager

MONITORING & EVALUATION OFFICER (M&E)
MR. FELIX AFUTU
He was the Regional TB Coordinator for the Brong Ahafo Region from 1994-1997 and 1999-2001. He was a member of the first cohort of health professionals trained to implement the re-structured National TB Programme in Ghana.
He is an Environmental Health Technologist. Supported by the Senior Medical Officer, Public Health and the Regional TB Team, he established one of the best performing Regions in TB control in Ghana. He has been a National Resource Person for the Programme and facilitated at trainings in all ten regions in Ghana. He also benefited extensively from national and international courses on TB programme management. He joined the Central TB Unit in 2003 and is currently a member of the National Programme Management Team responsible for Monitoring and Evaluation. His hobbies include playing tennis and photography.

- · Data processing and interpretation
- · Identification of key areas/problems
- · Reporting of information to the Program Manager
- · Feedback of information to regions and facilities
- · Supervision of Regional TB Coordinators, service personnel etc

MR. SIMON ADOBOE
TB/HIV OFFICER
He worked in various districts in the Volta Region in the Ghana Health Service from 1980-2001. He was later transferred to the Central Tuberculosis Unit of National Tuberculosis Program at Korle-bu, Accra in January 2002.
His duties include facilitating at training in all the regions in Ghana and coordinating Community TB Care activities. He participated in the International TB course in TB microscopy organized by the International Union against TB and Lung Disease (IUATLD) in Nairobi, Kenya in November 2003. He holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Cape Coast. His hobbies include traveling and reading.
