Functional Responsibilities

• Monitor, periodically, the implementation of health policies, the utilisation of health resources, and the attainment of targets for coverage, utilisation of services and health status
• Co-ordinate the publication of documents relating to Ghana Health Service activities (annual reports and other periodic reports) and ensure that the activities are properly documented and relevant information is disseminated

The Department will also have the following Sections to assist in the discharge of its functions

a. Monitoring and Evaluation Section

This Section will undertake the independent monitoring and evaluation of all GHS service delivery programs and other related programs that are antecedent to the achievement of the GHS mandate. In this regard, it will collaborate with donor agencies and other sectors to monitor and evaluate programs that are initiated and implemented by staff of the service.

b. Centre for Health Information Management
